Andray Blatche was Brooklyn’s man in the middle as the Nets moved their preseason mark to 3-0 in Boston.
The starters earned the night off, and Blatche has earned a shot to be a key part of this team. Tuesday he went off for 23 points and 9 boards as the Nets beat the Celtics 97-96. Boston put all their defensive attention on Blatche and still couldn’t stop him.
Amnestied from Washington, Brooklyn wants Blatche–but only if he’s willing to play ball Avery Johnson’s way. The big man’s contract is not guaranteed, so consistency on and off the court is vital.
He’s also helping Brook Lopez toughen up during practice every day …that may end up being his greatest contribution to this team’s success.
