Loaisiga Wins MLB Debut For Yankees

In his Major League debut on Friday night, Yankees starting pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga had a superb outing to earn the win in their 5-0 victory over Tampa Bay.

The 23-year-old Loaisiga, a native of Managua, Nicaragua, was called up from Double-A Trenton to make this start in place of Masahiro Tanaka.

Gleyber & German Power Yanks Past Rays

Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres got it done with his bat once again, while starting pitcher Domingo German turned in another big outing on the mound, to lead the Yankees past the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-3, on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium.

German entered this one after a good start against the Mets last Saturday night, when he went six innings, and did not allow a run after giving up three in the first. He settled in and struck out nine, tying a season-high from May 6 against Cleveland.

Yankees HOPE Week Day 4: Sal Reale & Wish Of A Lifetime

On Thursday, as part of HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week, Yankees players Greg Bird, Chad Green, Adam Warren, Chasen Shreve, Tyler Austin and Jonathan Holder celebrated the organization “Wish of a Lifetime,” which grants senior citizens dreams from their bucket lists.

They joined 87-year-old Sal Reale, his son Nick and grandson Nick in visiting Sal’s old firehouse FDNY LADDER 136 FDNY Engine 287/Ladder 136/Battalion 46 in Elmhurst, where reminisced and share stories with current firefighters.

Yankees HOPE Week Day 3: Think Kindness

On Day 3 of HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week on Wednesday afternoon, Yankees players CC Sabathia, Luis Severino, David Robertson and Aaron Hicks, along with third base coach Phil Nevin, Yankees General Partner / Vice Chairperson Jennifer Steinbrenner Swindal and Yankees Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Cashman joined the founder of Think Kindness, Brian Williams, to surprise fourth and fifth graders at P.S. 73 in the Bronx.

Williams — with help from Yankees players and staff — led a school assembly about changing the world through simple acts of kindness.

Yankees HOPE Week: A Kickball Game Supporting “No Bully” Campaign

Yankees HOPE Week continued on Tuesday morning as Yankees players and coaches joined Cassidy Warner, her family, and children and staff from the anti-bullying organization “No Bully” for a kickball game at Heritage Field, the site of the original Yankee Stadium and across the street from the current Stadium.

The Yankees began HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week 2018 on Monday afternoon with Manager Aaron Boone, Brett Gardner, Sonny Gray, Didi Gregorius, bench coach Josh Bard, NYCFC Goalkeeper Brad Stuver and the founders of the Muddy Puddles Project, Cindy and Louis Campbell, surprising families that have been affected by pediatric cancer at Mohawk Day Camp.
