The Brooklyn Nets have depth. And depth only matters when reserves can play as well or (in some situations) better than the starters.
Newcomer point guard CJ Watson did exactly that in the opener, turning the game Brooklyn’s way the moment he stepped onto the floor:
Coach Avery Johnson credited Watson for “carrying” the team Saturday — high praise from one point guard to another. Avery likes playing Watson and D-Will in the backcourt together too … it gives the team speed, defense, and vision all over the floor.
