On Thursday afternoon, redshirt sophomore Mikey Dixon notified the St. John’s coaching staff of his intention to transfer out of the program.
The 6-foot-2 guard from New Castle, Del., asked for and was granted his release from the team.
“We respect Mikey’s decision and wish him nothing but the best,” said St. John’s Head Coach Chris Mullin. “He’s a good basketball player and a good person with a bright future ahead.”
Dixon appeared in 14 games for the Red Storm this season after transferring to St. John’s from Quinnipiac following the 2016-17 campaign. He averaged 5.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest.
