St. John’s will hold its annual Red Storm Tip-Off tomorrow night, Friday, October 12, inside Carnesecca Arena.
Tickets are free of charge for St. John’s students and can be picked up at the Carnesecca Arena box office on Friday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Student season ticket holders can skip the line, as tickets will be sent directly to their mobile phones on Friday morning.
A limited number of tickets will be made available to alumni, Red White Club members, season ticket holders, faculty, and staff through the box office starting at 4 p.m. on Friday.
The St. John’s Athletic Department will deliver Friday’s highly anticipated Red Storm Tip-Off to a global audience with a live broadcast airing on Facebook Live. Beginning at 7:10 p.m., St. John’s fans will be able to watch the festivities inside Carnesecca Arena for the annual event that kicks off the college basketball season.
SJU-TV, the Red Storm’s award-winning video production arm, will compose the multi-camera broadcast that will feature courtside commentary during the action packed night. Each member of the 2018-19 men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced to the St. John’s faithful before fans get their first look at both squads showcasing their talents on the hardwood.
Red Storm Tip-Off festivities also include performances by the Red Storm dance and cheer teams, a St. John’s basketball alumni game, as well as several contests and giveaways.
Doors to the event will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are free. The Carnesecca Arena Ticket Office will open at 9 a.m. on Friday for St. John’s students. Student season ticket holders will receive their Red Storm Tip-Off ticket in their online account. Beginning at 4 p.m., the Ticket Office will welcome season ticket holders, Red White Club members, alumni, faculty and staff to pick up tickets.

Harlem recording artist Sheck Wes will perform at the conclusion of the yearly celebration to mark the start of the college basketball season. The 20-year-old is best known for his hit song “Mo Bamba,” which currently sits at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 26 in the publication’s ranking of hip-hop and R&B songs, Sheck Wes is widely considered a rising star in the industry. Signed to Cactus Jack Records, Travis Scott’s imprint through Interscope Records and G.O.O.D Music, Sheck Wes will be a part of the upcoming ASTROWORLD Tour in November and December. He released his debut studio album, MUDBOY, on Friday.
