Tavoris Cloud is the IBF light heavyweight champion, and his title is on the line in on March 9th at Barclays Center against future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins.

Cloud is unbeaten as a professional, with a record of 24-0 with 19 KO’s, which gives him a knockout ratio of 79 percent.

Cloud won the IBF light heavyweight title in 2009 with a point win over Clinton Woods. He has defended it four times, beating Glen Johnson, Fulgencio Zuniga, Yusaf Mack, and Gabriel Campillo.

He beat Campillo on February 18, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas in a split-decision with the deciding factor being that Cloud won the 12th round on two of three scorecards.

Cloud was then supposed to fight Jean Pascal on August 11th at Bell Centre in Montreal, but Pascal bowed out on July 26th due to a hand injury. The fight was supposed to be rescheduled, but no date could be found that was suitable for all parties.

That means that by the time March 9th rolls around, Cloud will have not fought in over a year, and Hopkins has had a long layoff too, with his last fight coming on August 28th.
